LA Circuits - EM-201 Moon Jock

The EM-201 Moon Jock Envelope Generator is a highly versatile four-stage ADSR module. The envelope generator serves as an integral element to the articulation of a synthesized sound. At the introduction of a gate or trigger signal from an external source, the EM-201 produces a precise voltage contour whose time and voltage variation is determined by the controls denoted as Attack (T1), Decay (T2), and Release (T3), as well as the interposed time constant sustaining level shifter, denoted as Sustain (ESUS). Each stage has a range of 0 V to +10 V. Each stage may also be independently modulated via the four CV inputs.

EM-201 produces a robust variable control voltage contour with excellent response times.

The Level potentiometer functions as an attenuverter—combining controls for both envelope attenuation and polarity inversion.

The contour’s output can be used to control any voltage controlled module (e.g. sculpting a voltage-controlled amplifier’s signal; creating a spectral sweep by controlling a filter’s cutoff frequency.

The Auto-Repeat and Gated-Repeat features capture and cycle the output as determined by the attack and decay (AD) stages, thereby also serving as a low-frequency oscillator. In Auto-Repeat mode, the AD cycle is self-repeating, notwithstanding a gate or trigger input. In Gated Repeat mode, the cycle initiates when presented with a gate signal input.
