Arturia MiniFreak 49

The MiniFreak 49 is Arturia's biggest addition to their Freak series of keyboards yet, featuring a swath of performance and sound design tools for creating even freakier sounding patches. This time around there are 49 full-size, semi-weighted, velocity sensitive keys, which offer a dynamic high quality playing experience. Get hands on control over your patches with the new XYZ Touch Matrix, which allows you to freely map parameters together to explore more intuitive, creative forms of patching. Sculpt complex macros with the new Freak Control feature, which allows you to use the Touch Matrix for multitouch gestures, initiating complex movement throughout your patches with the flick of the wrist.

Shape your sound's timbre with the dual modulation LFOs, which offers a plethora of different wave shapes to choose from—additionally, you can even draw your own wave shapes using the custom shape editor with the touch matrix as your canvas. Simultaneously, you can easily sculpt patches using the Touch Matrix, which allows you to make intuitive assignments across multiple engines, filters, effects, and other modulators without the need for endlessly scrolling through menus. There are a variety of other modulators including polyphonic cycling envelopes, which allow for complex pad and key sounds, giving the timbre of your sound more complex movement than most synths are capable of.

Add intrigue to your patches with the versatile effects engine, offering three discrete effects slots and thirteen algorithms each. Bring further depth to your sound with the per-voice stereo control, allowing you to place each individual voice throughout the stereo field as you see fit. Craft evolving sequences with the flexible sequencer, which has its own set of four dedicated modulation tracks for creating movement within your patches. The onboard arpeggiator includes several controls for injecting excitement into your patterns, such as ratchets, repeats, octave jumps, and more.

Control your software instruments using the USB-C MIDI I/O, allowing for complex integration with your DAW. Included with the MiniFreak 49 is the MiniFreak V companion software, which brings further integration with your DAW right from the hardware.
