The ES01 is based on the 1973 RANDOM SOURCE module which itself was literally a combination of the NOISE SOURCE and the SMOOTH & STEPPED GENERATOR boards internally linked to form the RANDOM SOURCE. The ES01, however, is a brand new re-design.

The ES01 produces random voltages which vary smoothly or in a step-wise manner.
Random timing pulses are also available from the [TIMING] output.

The rate of change of all outputs is voltage controllable over a wide range.
