Morph and mangle your sounds in rich stereo with Soft Memo from Herbs and Stones, a powerful desktop multi-FX processor with onboard modulation, flexible routing, and an intuitive, hands-on interface. Designed for creative sound processing and subtle effects alike, Soft Memo features two audio channels with an integrated feedback loop that feed into a central FX engine including eight captivating and unique effects. While its patchable interface enables easy integration with Eurorack modular systems, Soft Memo features its own pair of onboard LFOs, both with their own unique character and capabilities. The result is a stereo FX processor unlike any other, enhancing your creative flow with expressive movement and modulation sure to inspire your productions and performances into new worlds of sonic transformation.
Connect your stereo source to the 1/4" jacks on the back of Soft Memo, and route the 1/4" outputs to your preferred monitoring system to hear the captivating sounds it creates. At either end of the front panel, Soft Memo offers input channels A and B, which feed your signal into the FX engine. In each channel, an integrated feedback path with analog VCA and low pass filter allows you to mix processed audio back into the input stage, enabling infinite reverberations, shimmers, and more. On channel A, an envelope follower output offers a perfect source for changing parameters in step with your audio's amplitude movements, creating highly interactive processing that feels alive. For processing mono signals, the A to B switch allows you to align channel B's wet, dry, and input level controls to those of channel A, ensuring even balance at both outputs.
The central FX section is where Soft Memo's magic happens. Choose from eight digital effect algorithms, including unique drifting, reversed, and pitch shifted delays, warm stereo chorus, wandering pitch shifters, frozen granular reverbs, stereo ring modulation, and more. In each effect, three parameters are included with dedicated manual controls and CV inputs for fine tuning your processing. Get effects moving and evolving in time with the onboard X and Y LFOs, offering a creative modulation cornucopia for in-depth sound design. LFO X offers main outputs X1 and X2 which feature morphable waveforms, with additional division outputs that send squarewave clock divisions of the LFO rate. In addition to shape and rate controls, a phase shift control shifts the phase of X2 in relation to X1, perfect for complex modulation. In LFO Y, you get sinewave or stepped waveforms from outputs Y1 and Y2, with controls for rate and buttons that enable multiple phase and division settings.
